Qupe 2009 Chardonnay Santa Maria Valley, Ca

Great balance with bright acidity are the trademark of this wine. It is barrel fermented in 25% new François Fréres Burgundy barrels which frame the crisp apple and Asian pear flavors with a lovely savory, buttered toast finish.

Maloy O'neill 2007 Pinot Grigio Paso Robles, Ca

This wonderfully light and crisp wine has lemon citrusy, tropical grapefruit flavors. Makes a good afternoon wine but also pairs well with most shellfish and seafood dishes. Get it while it lasts.
2007 Pinot Grigio is a Library wine that is SOLD OUT at the winery, but still available at Full Moon Tasting Room!

EQ 2009 Sauvignon Blanc San Antonio Valley, Chile

A pale yellow color with subtle green shades, in aroma it shows soft notes of asparagus mixed with some fruits such as pineapple, peaches and mangoes. Floral aromas can also be distinguished, of vanilla and softly mineral. On the palate it is delicate and balanced, and no one taste is dominant, which makes it elegant and complex. The acidity is in the correct proportion, giving the wine a persistent and very agreeable finish. This is a wine with potential for ageing for some years, since it will gain complexity in the bottle.

This is a fresh, crisp viognier with flowery nose and natural underlying richness. It is not overly sweet and was fermented dry.

New Age NV Blend Mendoza, Argentina

A light yellow/green colored wine, with fruity and floral aromas of great intensity. Balanced acidity leads to soft, semi-sweet and slightly effervescent flavors and mouth feel. It is an extremely refreshing, vivacious and sensual wine.

Pomar Junction 2009 Syrah Rose Paso Robles, Ca

Rhone varietal such as Syrah make wonderful Rosé wines that make an ideal warm weather summer wine. Typical of Rhone Rosé wines, ours has an underlying mineral character that gives more character and structure than one would normally associate with a Rosé.

Lapis Lunas 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon Lodi, Ca

Very dark and rich wine with silky, soft, round tannins. Crimson in color with rose petals and caramel aromas on the nose. Immediate flavors of candied black cherry and earthiness fill the mouth and end with a long intriguing finish layered with tobacco and charcoal tones. This is a delicious full bodied Cabernet from the 2006 harvest.

Evohe 2009 Granacha Aragon, Spain

Evohé Garnacha Viñas Viejas, which sees no oak, is pure Garnacha from start to finish. The color is a beautiful black cherry hue with a magenta rim; the bouquet is bright, ripe and vivacious with notes of blackberries, blueberries and black plums, lavender and licorice with sleek slate-like minerals. In the mouth, much is the same, with these luscious black and blue fruit flavors taking on wild touches of mulberry, briers and violets, set into moderately dense and finely-milled tannins allied to lively acidity.

Maloy O'neil 2007 Lagrien Paso Robles, Ca

Lagrein is a deep ruby red tending towards purple. Aromas of blackcurrant, sweet pea, earth and minerals (graphite) are in the forefront, with fragrant spice (black licorice and anise), leather and coco also rounding out this big wine. Tasting the Lagrein reveals wonderful flavors of black currant, black cherry and black plum, earth, tar, and spice. The tannins are very pronounced but integrated well into the fruit. The backbone of this wine is its balanced acidity that leads into a seamless finish which accentuates the spice of this wonderful rare grape.

Famiglia Bianchi 2008 Malbec Mendoza, Argentina

Some people feel this may be the best variety grown in Argentina. The luscious, intense fruit aromas that hint of ripe plums, cherries and berries give an initial indication of why this variety is so highly throught of. The flavors are similar to the aromas with a mouth feel of a massive presence but at the same time soft and silky.

Deep ruby red, Full, fruity. Nice scents of small red fruits, blackberries, peonies, eucalyptus, vanilla, leather.very intense, complex, full, enveloping the palate. Persistent finish, leaving a nice mouth.

J&J Cellars 2008 Merlot Paso Robles, Ca

The 2008 J&J Cellars' Merlot from our San Miguel Vineyard has aromas and flavors of Bing cherries, black licorice, dried herbs, and a hint of chocolate, finishing with well-balanced tannins. This wine was barrel aged in a combination of American, French and Hungarian oak of which 57% were new.

Aaron 2008 Petite Syrah Paso Robles, Ca

A utter bomb of black fruit (but not overripe), carried by a strong line of black pepper and finishing with coffee grounds, dark chocolate, and toasty oak. No mouth ripping tannins here. Sorry

Pear Valley 2006 Syrah Paso Robles, Ca

Sweet aromas of boysenberry and blueberry perserves, dark chocolate and freshly ground espresso beans are graced with lovely notes of cedar, vanilla and dried herbs. Rich and intense flavors of ripe, juicy blackberries and boysenberries engulf the palate. Plush and well structured, with a core of firm yet very supple tannins.

Lapis Luna 2007 Zinfandel Lodi, Ca

Full of dark fruit and earthen flavors, the “Romanzo Moon” Zinfandel from Lapis Luna is the perfect wine for a cozy and romantic evening. An Italian word meaning both “romance” and “a novel,” Romanzo is a fitting descriptor—this wine certainly tells a story. Its dark ruby color and aromas of blackberry and spice reveal alluring depth and complexity, while flavors of red raspberry, black cherry and leather excite and delight the palate. A luscious, long finish provides a satisfying end.

La Filice 2008 Convivio Paso Robles, Ca

Deep, garnet-crimson color. Aroma notes of cherry/blackberry, with a hint of “spice-box”. Striking fruit impression, some cocoa/floral notes. Impressive balance suggests good age-ability.

Planeta 2009 Cerasuolo Di Vittoria Sicily, Italia

Light, bright red. The herbal, floral and fruity nose (red berries, sour red cherry) strongly reminded me of frappato. Then more red fruits on the palate, with enticing freshness and a hint of spice. Finishes bright, long and pure. Excellent.

Maloy O'neill 2007 Gioi Paso Robles, Ca

A hint of leather over bright cherry fruit. Perhaps just a touch of sweetness in a wine that seems remarkably mellow and balanced for its stunning (14.9%) alcohol content. You won't likely mistake this robust Californian Sangiovese blend in the "Super Tuscan" style for a Chianti, but it doesn't claim to be. 65% Sangiovese, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot

Henry Drive 2008 Morse Code Austrailia

The Morse Code Shiraz is a fruit driven wine made with minimal oak contact to allow the fruit flavours and regional char-acters to be at the forefront. The wine has a lifted perfumed nose, showing an array of floral characters in-cluding lavender and rose, ripe cherry fruit and hints of spearmint. The palate is medium bodied and fruit driven with a nice depth of berry fruit, hints of liquorice and lavender, with a fleshy mid palate and finishing with a soft and supple tannin structure.

Paulao Laureano Vinus 2007 Vale da Torre Alentejo, Portugal

Paulo Laureano is one of Portugal's top oenologists and now he has his own wine. His pride is focused on showing authentic Portuguese varietals and The Bin 717 Vale da Torre is a glimpse of "New Alentejo" winemaking using indigenous grapes. The new generation focuses on fruit and a more modern mouth-feel. Using classic grapes from the region, with partial stainless steel tank and partial 3rd pass French Allier barrels, the wine shows voluminous fruit flavors of cranberry cocktail with pie spices, macerated cherries and raspberry.

A blend of Bear Valley and Paso Robles vineyards, this is a seamless and stunning mix of purple fruit and oak spice. An early frost while the 2005 Cabernet was still on the vine cost us that vintage, so we used our 2006 Cabernet instead. NV (2005/2006) Vinidiction, 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 45% Syrah; Monterey and San Luis Obispo Counties.

Contessa Giulia NV Prosecco Veneto, Italia

Straw yellow in color. On the nose it, is very delicate showing impressive floral aromas.
On the palate it is extra dry with a beautiful balance between acidity and apple flavors.

J Vineyards NV Rose Cuvee Hearaldsburg, Ca

The color is lovely, a deep peach shade, and the nose is light with berry fruit. The body offers more depth, fairly heavy on the creamy bubbliness, with big red berry notes. Oranges are clear on the finish. That finishing acidity is bracing, inviting, and refreshing, just like a good rose sparkler should be.

Gayle Force One 2005 Cab-Franc Late Harvest Paso Robles, Ca

Late Harvest Cabernet Franc is complex, supple, packed with berry flavors, as well as nuances of toast and spice from the American oak. Perfect balance, smooth texture and firm structure with a long velvety finish. The sweetness is toned down so it does not come off as overly sweet in any way shape or form - an incredibly easy going sipper that disappears from the glass very quickly.

Roxo Port 2006 Paso Melange-Blend Paso Robles, Ca

The 2006 Paso Mélange is dominated by Cabernet Franc. The flavors are ripe and raisiny with a long finish reveals blueberry, cracked pepper and mineral. The acidity and fruit are well-balanced, and the Paso Mélange is equally at home with a good smoke or a delicate dessert. 71% Cabernet Franc 22% Cabernet Sauvignon 7% Petit Verdot.

In The Beginning

Full Moon Wine Bar and Bistro opended on 4th July 2009 . Just in time for the world famous annual Cayucos 4th of July Parade and Fireworks show. An eclectic background in food, wine and entertainment lead to the idea of sharing our love of the Central Coast and it abundance of local produce, great food, talented musicians, artist and craftmen in beautiful Cayucos by the Sea - the gateway to magical Big Sur and the Paso Robles wine country.
